  1. REMOTE TELEPATHY

  3. At a party, bar or any kind of
  4. gathering, you approach someone and
  5. ask them to "pick a card, any card."
  6.  
  7. It helps if you have a real deck, but
  8. in the event that you don't, you can
  9. use an imaginary deck of cards.
  10.  
  11. Whichever method is used, be sure and
  12. play it up, use a little flash. If you
  13. are using an imaginary deck, act as if
  14. you have a real one. Make your victim
  15. actually pick a card from the "deck"
  16. that you just flushed and fanned.
  17.  
  18. Have the person who picked the card
  19. announce it to the crowd or even write
  20. it down.
  21.  
  22. You then go to the phone, dial a
  23. number, and ask to speak to "Glablock
  24. the Great," or "The Wizard" or "The
  25. Sorceress."
  26.  
  27. Whatever.
  28.  
  29. You then say, "Sorceress, there is
  30. someone here holding a card." Hand the
  31. phone to your victim and watch their
  32. face as "The Sorceress" tells them
  33. their card.

  35. If you want to really impress them,
  36. make it a long distance number that
  37. you dial.

  39. I've watched people look for hidden
  40. microphones and bugs, check for extra
  41. phone lines etc, trying to figure
  42. this one out.

  44. Here's how you do it.

  47. For this one you need what is called a
  48. "Confederate." A confederate is a
  49. friend who knows the routine. You can
  50. be confederates for each other and
  51. reverse roles whenever the opportunity
  52. presents.

  54. You use a very simple code. When you
  55. ask to speak to "Glabock The Great"
  56. (or whatever name or title you agree
  57. on). Your confederate starts counting
  58. down the cards . . . "Ace, King,
  59. Queen" and so forth. When they hit the
  60. number, you say, "Glablock The Great,"
  61. at which time they start counting
  62. down the suit, "Spade, Heart, Club,
  63. Diamond." When the correct suit is hit,
  64. you quickly say, "I have a person here
  65. holding a card." You then hand the phone
  66. to the victim who hears a mysterious
  67. voice say "You have the Jack of Hearts."
  68. Or whatever the card was.  They then
  69. hang up.

  71. You're simply AMAZING!!

  73. Get this down pat and you can apply it
  74. to different things. Such as furniture
  75. in a room etc. Just don't use more
  76. than two variables in your code and
  77. remember the KISS principle.  Keep It
  78. Simple Stupid.

  80. One hint; Try to pick a confederate
  81. that is home or by a phone on a fairly
  82. reliable basis.
